Influenster Clear Proof Acne System by Mary Kay Review

I recently had the opportunity to test and review the Clear Proof Acne System by Mary Kay from Influenster. Although I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes all opinions are my own.

I was so excited to learn that I was chosen to receive this skincare system! My skincare needs usually change as the seasons change from summer to fall, so I wanted to try something to keep my skin from becoming problematic. This system boasts:

"With the Clear Proof® Acne System, you get an effective regimen clinically shown to provide clearer skin in just 7 days.* The four-product set:
  • Clears up blemishes without irritation and helps maintain a clear complexion.
  • Unclogs pores, removes excess oil and leaves skin feeling healthier.
  • Fades the look of lingering acne spots.
  • Attacks multiple factors that can contribute to acne breakouts."

The set that I received included:
  • Clear Proof® Clarifying Cleansing Gel,** 4.5 oz.
  • Clear Proof® Blemish Control Toner,** 5 fl. oz.
  • Clear Proof® Acne Treatment Gel,** 1 oz.
  • Clear Proof® Oil-Free Moisturizer for Acne-Prone Skin, 3 fl. oz.
You can purchase the kit, listed above. from your Mary Kay representative or directly from the website.

The first step in the system is the Clear Proof Clarifying Cleansing Gel. I like gel cleansers for my skin and this lathered quite nicely. It made my skin feel clean and refreshed. The second step is the Clear Proof Blemish Control Toner. This toner was gentle yet effective and cleaned any residue that the cleanser may have missed. The third step is the Clear Proof Acne Treatment Gel. I used this at night to help with any problem areas. After using, it was not long before the blemish went away. And the final step is the Clear Proof Oil-Free Moisturizer for Acne-Prone Skin. Even though I have oily skin, I think that it is necessary to use a moisturizer to protect against the elements and prevent wrinkles. This moisturizer went on smoothly and was light.

I enjoyed using this kit and it is definitely a keeper for my oily yet sensitive skin. It kept my skin clean, healthy and my blemishes at bay. All in all, I saw positive results after 14 days of continuous use. And with all skincare routines, consistency is key!

Have you tried this system? If so. what do you think? I would love to hear from you, just leave a comment below. And if you are interested in signing up for Influenster and you're ready to try new products, simply sign up here!

* Back To School Tax Free Weekend! *

I can't believe that it is already August and almost time to go back to school! We have really enjoyed ourselves this summer, and I plan to squeeze every drop of fun out of our remaining vacation days! Even though I will continue to celebrate summer, I have to prepare for the inevitable.

In many states, this weekend is Tax Free Weekend for school supplies and clothing. Here in Virginia, Back To School purchases of supplies $20 and under and clothing $100 and under are tax free. Different states have different thresholds for the tax free qualification. You can always check your state's website to see what the limit is. Listed below is a list of the states and dates, that I have found, that participate in The Back To School Tax Free Weekend.

  • Alabama          August 1-3
  • Arkansas          August 2-3
  • Connecticut      August 17-23
  • Florida             August 1-3
  • Georgia            August 1-2
  • Iowa                August 1-2
  • Louisiana          August 1-2
  • Maryland          August 10-16
  • Missouri           August 1-3
  • New Mexico      August 1-3
  • Oklahoma         August 1-3
  • South Carolina  August 1-3
  • Tennessee        August 1-3
  • Texas               August 8-10
  • Virginia             August 1-3
I just made my list yesterday, and pretty much have to shop for everything! Make sure to pair your shopping with sales or coupons to make the most of your shopping!

We had a fun week last week, which included a road trip to Washington, D.C. to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Her birthday request!

Time sure does fly! I can't believe this sweet girl is 11! She loves to travel, artwork and hanging out with her family. So no wonder she chose D.C. for her birthday! We had a chance to hang out with my brother and his family; just having fun time talking, eating, laughing and enjoying ourselves. * Goals for the Week of July 14th *

It's been such a loooong time since I have actually listed my goals, worked toward them and checked them off. I've used my planner for everyday tasks, but it just seems like I've been on 'A Thousand' doing everything, for everyone; but not actually working toward things that I actually want to accomplish for myself. There's no time like the present to change that, so this week I'm posting my goals and working to meet them!

Here's a little recap of some of the things that we did last week:

I had some movie passes that I received for my birthday, so we went to see Earth to Echo. It was a pretty good movie. It was kind of like a documentary that was made by a teenager. My kiddos really enjoyed it and we laughed throughout the movie.
My son attended Baseball Camp at our church and was coached by former MLB pitcher Wayne Gomes. That was exciting!

It seemed like it was a Film Festival for us last week; because in addition to seeing Earth to Echo, we also saw Maleficent (with some friends that have become family) and The Lego Movie! (Part of the Regal Summer Movie Express Program)

Then we indulged in some freebies on Friday with a free slurpee and free Chick-fil-A!

We had a full and fun week! So here's the plan for this week.

This week's goals:

Personal
  • Drink at least 3 cups of water each day.
  • Take vitamin daily.
  •
  • Reading List:
    • Bible Reading Plan (this week's reading found here)
  • Prepare charity donation for pickup and write itemized list of donation.

  • Send out 2 cards of encouragement.
  • Prepare Sunday School Lesson.
  • Assist elderly neighbors.

** Bible Reading Plan Week 2 **

Happy Monday! I hope that your Fourth of July weekend was a great one! We had a lot going on, but it was filled with fun! Oh yeah, and a hurricane threat! Thankfully, it wasn't as bad as it was supposed to be, and we didn't have any damage. :)

How is your reading going? I hope it's going well! I said I would post the plan on Sunday, but I was soooo sick yesterday afternoon until this morning. And then, I didn't want to post another blog entry with my other Bible picture :/ Perfectionism is so debilitating at times. So I was finally able to get  a picture of my Bible study setup, along with some freshly cut flowers from my garden and some sunshine! So here's the plan-

This week's reading is:

Monday        Genesis 42-47
Tuesday       Genesis 48- Exodus 5
Wednesday   Exodus 6-11
Thursday      Exodus 12-17
Friday           Exodus 18-25
Saturday       Exodus 26-30

If you would like to read along with me, I would love for you to! It's not too late to join! You can leave a comment below and let me know that you're in. I'd love to hear from you!

** Bible Reading Plan Week 1 **

One of my goals for the past few years has been to read the entire Bible. I've done chapter studies and those have been great. I've actually started a few reading plans, but I haven't finished one yet :( I have a deep desire to accomplish this goal this year and I am challenging myself to finally do it! With half of the year behind us as of today, I need to get to it! I have tried the 90 reading plan, and although you finish quickly; it is a lot to take in at once. And if you happen to get behind, it takes a lot to catch up. Sooooo.......I will complete this Six Month Reading Plan this year!

The plan that I am starting is a six month reading plan with Sundays off to either catch up or do some leisure reading. If you would like to read along with me, I will make a printable by next week that you can print off for yourself. I will also post the week's reading plan each Sunday.

This week's reading is:
Monday         Genesis 1-8
Tuesday        Genesis 9-17
Wednesday   Genesis 18-24
Thursday      Genesis 25-29
Friday           Genesis 30-35
Saturday       Genesis 36-41

I am so excited and I am looking forward to completing this challenge! If you would like to read along with me, I would love for you to! You can leave a comment below and let me know that you're in. I'd love to hear from you!

** My Recent Freebies **

So, I have a confession to make...........I haven't been couponing lately!

**Gasp!!**

Lol! Of course, I feel horrible when I go to the register and I think, I could have gotten that for free or cents on the dollar. But there is still time to jump back into the game. Couponing takes time, and honestly I haven't had the time to do it.  It's also a little discouraging when you go shopping, and the shelves have been cleared out. But, you know what they say, "The early bird catches the worm!" And I plan to do just that! Hopefully, there should be some really great Fourth of July deals coming up, so I plan to get on top of things.

Even though I haven't been couponing, I have been signing up for freebies or entering sweepstakes when I run across them. So here are the freebies that I've received recently:
  • Seattle's Best Coffee sample and coupon
  • Free Ritz Crackerfuls coupon
  • Larabar Uber bar sample
  • Schiff Move Free bottle
  • Listerine sample and coupon
  • Dove Oxygen Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner sample and coupon
  • Cottonelle Flushable Wipes sample and coupons
  • Starbucks Coffee and Via sample
  • Truvia sample and coupon
  • Schiff Digestive Advantage and coupon
Be sure to check back to see what freebies are available for you to sign up for. You can also stay connected with Butterfly Kisses of Love on facebook and twitter!

Have you received any goodies in your mailbox recently? Leave a comment below. I would love to hear from you!

Enjoy your weekend!
